Posada la Gordita is a traditional home stay guest house in the central district of Zaragoza Leon, Nicaragua. Posada la Gordita is a 6 bedroom home located near all the best places in Leon. It offers very clean and spacious private rooms with private and/or shared bathrooms. We offer nightly and discounted rates in the off season (September & October).
All linens and towels are provided and housekeeping cleans the whole house daily to create a very homelike experience for our tired travelers. The house has a casual home-like atmosphere with an informal dining room, living room and outside porch. We offer the use of the fridge for your water, ice and purchases from the market, open kitchen and there is coffee available every morning and WIFI free of charge.
Our house is around the corner from La Olla Quemada, 3 blocks from the main Cathedral in the center and 1 block from La Colonia, Leon´s newest and most chic supermarket in town. 6 blocks from the famous french bakery Pan y Paz, within a 4 block radius of the house there are over 20 restaurants and bars, lunch places, shopping, some of the best dessert and coffee places and the biggest ice cream shop in town. There is also an artisan market within 3 blocks, Leon’s biggest fruit stand is within walking distance and offers the best local, freshest and ready to eat fruit.

Owned and operated by Monica Pacheco (la Gordita) as she is known by all the locals. Monica is Guatemalan born but raised in Canada, came to Nicaragua in search of "less snow and cold". Monica has a back ground in a variety of areas including business, imports and exports, sales. She has found in Nicaragua a place that is still untouched and yet has so much to offer the traveler, the developer or just someone looking for a different pace of life. As with all traditional B&B's she lives in the location and is ever present to help your stay be a safe and happy experience. She enjoys finding new and undiscovered places for travellers to experience with locals, speaks Spanish and English fluently.
